Turnitin Assignments in Canvas

The aim of this workshop is to learn more about how to set up and manage Turnitin assignments in Canvas.

Intended Audience:

• Those responsible for creation and administration of Turnitin Assignments within Canvas

Prerequisite:

• Must have a current Canvas account in order to participate in this workshop

Overview

This practical workshop will enable you to use the integrated tool within Canvas to set up and manage Turnitin assignments. We will create an assignment and explore the different settings in both Canvas and Turnitin. We will get a student's view of how to submit and the steps they need to take to do so. We will then look at how to view the similarity reports in Canvas and undertake the grading process. We will finish with a look at some key issues that must be considered when using the Turnitin integration within Canvas.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop you should be able to:

• Create a Turnitin assignment using the integrated tool within Canvas.

• Manage the assignment options, both for Canvas and Turnitin.

• Understand the way Canvas interacts with Turnitin.

• Use Canvas to view the similarity report generated by Turnitin.

• Grade Turnitin assignments within Canvas.
